Project Objectives

  • Raise youth awareness of the importance of cultural competency and feel more confident and 
    comfortable interacting with people from different religious, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic
    backgrounds.

  • Increase youth knowledge of cultural diversity & critical thinking. Learn about Culture, Identity,
    Stereotypes, Prejudice, Discrimination, Inclusion, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community
    Impact.

  • Develop youth critical thinking skills. This will be for both creating a more inclusive
    society in Europe, as well as preparing youth for the globalized and international job market.

  • Increase youth intercultural communication and competencies working in international and multicultural teams.

Hands Up

Participants should be... 

  • Interested in working on cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue issues.

  • Motivated and able to share the project results in their local context and involved in the dissemination and follow-up process.

  • Active participants in all sessions & English-speaking abilities are mandatory!

  • Able to work in groups, share their ideas, give presentations, and express themselves.

  • Age: from 18 years to 30 (groups leaders without age limit)

About the Venue

The project venue is a Scout House close to Copenhagen City and surrounded by a forest, a small lake, and green open spaces. The facilities include a bonfire, indoor fireplace, football field &gritty running/ jogging tracks, big terrace.

 

Participants should be aware of the fact that this is a scout house. Bring warm clothes, bed linen, and towels.

Accommodation

For the duration of the training.
The cabin Store Klaus is a cabin beautifully situated in the woods close to Copenhagen.

Meals

You will enjoy simple but lovely breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and coffee breaks.

Project materials

You will have everything from big white paper sheets to markers, pencils, and tapes to show your creativity. 

Space for lectures and games

A lecture and party hall, bonfire, spacious football yard, and jogging tracks. You will do many outdoor activities.
